Urban change literacy is about helping communities understand why change is needed and how it can improve lives and places. When people are informed, they can engage with confidence, support better outcomes and helps reduce fear-based opposition. Strong literacy builds trust and creates a foundation for meaningful participation.

Urban change leadership is the ability to guide communities and systems through transition with courage, clarity and vision. Leaders who can balance competing needs, build trust and champion long-term public benefit are essential to shaping equitable and resilient futures. Without this capability, opportunities for positive change are often lost to conflict or short-term pressures.
