Our legacy.
Urban change is accelerating. Communities need literacy, leaders need capability, and systems need trust to make equitable, resilient, and sustainable futures possible.
That’s why we are leaving behind a legacy: tools, research, and resources that will continue to empower others long after Studio THI’s closure.
The work shared focuses on our three enduring urban change commitments: Literacy, Leadership, and Legacy.
Literacy.
Urban change literacy is about helping communities understand why change is needed and how it can improve lives and places. When people are informed, they can engage with confidence, support better outcomes, and resist fear-based opposition. Strong literacy builds trust and creates a foundation for meaningful participation.
Leadership.
Urban change leadership is the ability to guide communities and systems through transition with courage, clarity, and vision. Leaders who can balance competing needs, build trust, and champion long-term public benefit are essential to shaping equitable and resilient futures. Without this capability, opportunities for positive change are often lost to conflict or short-term pressures.
Legacy.
Legacy is about ensuring that the benefits of urban change endure beyond individual projects or organisations. By embedding learning and sharing resources widely, we can continue improving places long after the initial work is done. Legacy ensures communities and practitioners have the tools and confidence to keep shaping better outcomes.
These resources are free to access and use. We hope they continue to inspire, inform, and equip you to help your communities, organisations, and stakeholders navigate urban change with confidence and impact.
